We’ve designed, tested, and refined ZORB for over 20 years, and we are compliant with New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act (Adventure Activities), which regulates adventure tourism in New Zealand. We pride ourselves on our safety record and welcome children from age 5 right through to visitors aged 85 and beyond.
The water inside the ZORB ensures riders slide rather than tumble, staying at the bottom of the ball instead of bouncing around inside it.

Choose Solo or Group Rides – Stress-Free Planning:
Some kids are keen to go solo, while others prefer to ride with a sibling or parent, and that’s perfectly fine with us. As long as children are aged 5 or older and within the maximum weight limit (135 kg per rider), they can ride alone or in a group with family members.
The price is the same whether you ride solo or together, giving you the flexibility to share one ride and go separately on the next!
ZORB Rotorua is located 5km away from Rotorua’s CBD, making it an easy trip from anywhere in the city.

FAQs From Families Visiting ZORB
Is ZORB one of the best attractions for families in Rotorua?
ZORB is a family-friendly adventure. As long as children meet our minimum age requirements (five years old), they can ride on supervised tracks, with access to private changing rooms and hot tubs.
Is the water in the ZORBs cold or warm?
It depends on the weather. Our goal is to keep you comfortable so you can focus on the fun. When it’s hot, the water is cooler. When it’s cold, we warm it up.
Do kids ride alone or with an adult?
Typically, younger children ride with an adult. More adventurous kids may ride on their own; it’s completely up to the parent.
Is ZORB scary for children?
Most kids find it exciting rather than scary, especially after their first ride. There’s no free-fall feeling. It’s more like a fast, smooth slide than a bungy jump. Our staff explain everything beforehand so kids know exactly what to expect.
Will my children get wet?
Yes. Each ZORB contains 40 litres of water to help riders slide smoothly. Bring a towel and a change of clothes.
Can kids with additional needs ride ZORB?
Absolutely. Our team is welcoming and inclusive. We recommend getting in touch before your visit so we can best accommodate your child’s needs and preferences.
